‘INDEPENDENCE DAY 250: OUT OF MANY, ONE’ COMMUNITY CELEBRATION IN SHELTON
SHELTON, WA — June 5, 2026 — The 35th Legislative District Democrats are proud to present "Independence Day 250: Out of Many, One (E Pluribus Unum)”, a family-friendly, alcohol-free 250th-anniversary celebration of the United States. The event will take place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Kneeland Park in Shelton, WA.
Designed as a premier community fundraising and voter mobilization initiative, this landmark event brings together residents from across Mason, Thurston, and Kitsap counties to celebrate the foundational values of democratic participation, liberty, and civic unity as the local community gears up for the upcoming political season.
The celebration features an extensive lineup of live entertainment at the covered main stage. Nationally touring folk singer and musical storyteller Celia Farran will headline the event, performing a powerful set of freedom and social justice songs (https://celiafarran.com/home).
Acclaimed cellist James DeHart, who performs professionally with the Olympia Symphony, will open the day at noon with a stirring rendition of the National Anthem.
Local favorites The Hoodsport Consort are also slated to perform their popular repertoire of easy audience-participation folk anthems.
Celia will also be selling tickets on her website (www.celiafarran.com) to a picnic concert the following day, on July 5th, in Shelton at a private campground called Erosia, which is also a fundraiser for the 35th LD.
